...and although the whole area is rather big it was hidden behind high walls and nobody had the idea that there would be one of the most beautiful buildings of Marrakesh

inside the tombs there is a lovely garden and buildings with absolutely great ornaments. and the roof-tiles on the buildings are all green - as it is the color of the prophet. The buildings needed almost no restauration and are still in perfect condition !

don't forget to bring a flash, when you intend to take pics - some of the best rooms are rather dark, but well worth a picture !

Tijavi Tue Sep 4, 2007 15:56 UTC Thanks for this tour of Marrakesh. Love your picture of the Menara Pavillion. Cheers! | zaffaran Sun May 21, 2006 18:29 UTC As usually, Michael, another great and very addictive page! :-)) | JLBG Sun Jan 8, 2006 20:12 UTC You are right, in places such as the dyers district, you can feel guilty of taking pictures. There are several places in Morocco where I did not take any pictures because of that. Excellent Marrakech page ! | keeweechic Sat May 7, 2005 01:40 UTC Amazing place..I'm not sure I would last through Ramadan. The Saadier tombs are fascinating. I know I would enjoy the shopping. |
