Restaurant Name: Alte Mainmühle
First of all this great restaurant is next to the old bridge over the river Main and it has terraces facing the river (see my main pic!). From these terraces you will see the castle Marienberg like in pic. #4. I did not eat inside their restaurant, but simply ordered some of their sausages to take away, conveniently "packed" in a crispy roll, see my 2nd picture. On my 3rd picture you can see the counter, where to order these sausages, they come freshly roasted from the charcoal-grill and will help you to be strong enough to climb up the steps to Marienberg ! ;-) Click on their web-page and you will hear the sound of the river Main !
Favorite Dish: Mühlenbratwürste vom Holzkohlengrill (3 Stück im Weck) zum Mitnehmen am Tresen 2,- Euro _____________________ So you get 3 small sausages and some mustard "packed" in a crispy roll for just 2,- Euros to take away

wabIV Wed Jun 10, 2009 03:58 UTC Thank you for sharing a few highlights of Wurzburg with us. I attended the American High School there and Lived in Kitzingen. I treasure the memories. Both cities are beautiful and filled with history and character. | flyingscot4 Tue Mar 10, 2009 04:04 UTC Great stuff about Würzburg, Michael. It takes a "real" German or Austrian to hit the high points of any Austrian or German city, especially in an area like Franken. I'll be in Würzburg in a couple of weeks and really needed the "refresher" course. Thanks | Kuznetsov_Sergey Thu Nov 29, 2007 20:48 UTC Thanks Michael for showing us highlights and hidden paths of Wuerzburg - one of the most interesting cities in Bavaria in my opinion. I've been there once and even have made a page, but in a hurry. I want to rebuild it one day. | lotharlerch Mon Nov 19, 2007 22:47 UTC Hoffentlich geht sich im Frühling eine Frankenreise aus - Nürnberg, Bamberg, Würzburg, mit Bratwurst und Bocksbeutel. |
