This interesting building in the traditional style, that was obviously recently built next to the Maimoon palace of the former Sultans of Belanda is "Meriam Puntung" or in english gun butts or cannon. This cannon is from year 1800...

Tjong A Fie Mansion is now open to the public. Tourism may enter into to see the house and its contents. Only with the entry ticket IDR 35,000 included tour guide and a brief explanation of the history and architecture of the house.

Michael, it is great that you were able to have a good look at the mosque and palace, but it is not often that one gets 'thrown out of a mansion'!! Your min-bus ride sounds like quite an adventure too!
