Boeing Everett Factory - Everett, Washington
The Boeing 747 pretty much revolutionized commercial air
travel in 1967, because it was capable of carrying nearly
twice as many passengers as previous models. A lot of
people were interested in seeing it and unofficial tours of
the factory soon began. Now, we know we are suckers for the
biggest-tallest-heaviest items of this planet. So we didn't
even try to pass on the opportunity to visit the biggest
building in the world, the 4.3 million square feet where
the 747, 767 and 777 are built.
By the way, you can leave the camcorder at the hotel since
picture taking is not allowed on the site -- competitive
intelligence gathering for Airbus being frowned upon by
Boeing.
Open Monday through Friday. There are six tours during the
day. All children must be at least 4'2' tall.
Adults : $5
Where: Highway 526 West
