Slaybelle's LITTLE ITALY

<font color="orange"><B>The Cinque Terre

Just 30 miles south of Portofino, this is a simpler and more secluded world entirely. The stately architecture is still typically Ligurian, but the small medieval villages clinging to the coastline have poor road access and so no big tour groups. The northernmost town, Monterosso, is the most developed, with some 20 small hotels. The next one, Vernazza which ended up being my favorite stop is small and personable enough that tourist accommodations consists mainly of apartments being rented our for the nite by enterprising locals. A room here will cost about what the room tax can be in Portofino.

Amalfi coast is the most beautiful coastline in the world. I absolutely loved it....as I drove through. Wish I could have stopped and stayed a while.
