Being back from Egypt is always a nostalgic state of mind...you wonder about those sceneries and the heat on your back as well as the constant smell of shisha pipes and the profusion of animals wandering about. I am always in love with Egypt despite my professional interest as a learning/growing Egyptologist. Although this country has beaten the record for tourists in 2006, it is really an experience for newcomers; a nice coming back for second-timers and an eternal bliss for people who elect Egypt as their favorite destination. Maybe it is tru, after all, that old Egyptian saying that Nubian boat drivers tell you: if you accidentally drink any water from the Nile you will be returning to Egypt. But it is difficult not to drink it if you go for a swim everytime you go near it's margins as I do... |
