Punta Cana is situated on the south-eastern coast of the Dominican Republic. It's a part of the Costa del Coco, which includes also the Bāvaro. Here there are nothing but tourist villages. The zone is uninhabited except a little village, El Cortesito, and the nearest town is Higuey, about 55 kilometers away in the inland. Usually the tourists land at the International Punta Cana Airport, built expressly for them. Actually at your arrival you'll find a pictoresque airport made of stone and wood with a thatched roof. Then the bus takes you to your destination...the heaven on earth!! |
