Visiting Death Valley is a good way to find out how your body reacts to extreme temperatures. When we visited the park during our motorhome trip through California in September 1999, we learned that each one in our party of six reacted different on the heat. Some of us were quite comfortable, others didn't know how to handle it and stayed inside the vehicle to keep out of the burning sun. On the other hand, the surreal scenery and sights in this piece of desert make a trip worth the effort. And should you think that you find a refreshing swimming pool at the Furnace Creek campsite, you're wrong. The water temperature is even warmer than your body temp....
