The emerald butterfly in the heart of the French West Indies archipelago offered me some of the best thing on earth. Its warm and friendly peoples, beautifull turquoise water sometimes calm and sometimes furious, hot weather under the always shining sun (from 20C or 68F in the morning to more than 30C or 86F in the afternoon during the Careme or january to May , only 5 days without sun through out the year), exquisite gastronomy (my favorites are accras, a fish fritters, and Ouassous, a crayfish cultivated on the island), great rum (altough usually very strong, it’s well represented in a Ti-Punch or a Planter on the beach under a palm tree!), various nice beaches (from black volcano sand of Grande-Anse to the deep brown paradisiac beachs of Deshaies, coral floors of Bouillante or white sand, animated beaches of St-Francois or Gosier), amazing vegetation (colorfull flowers like bird of paradise or balisier, royal palm trees, banana trees, mango trees, gorgeous rain forest, voyageur trees), rich culture, exotism, color, warmess… Everything is there for the perfect vacation… which I had in Karukera! |
