| Mediteraneen sea from Marseille |
I spent a day in Marseille, a day trip from Avignon where I was staying for a week. The lady at the train station said it would be a nice city, so did the baker and a customer of the bakery... They weren't wrong! We had a nice visit, walking around the port with it's numerous boats and coffee shop, up the hill to find a great view on the city and the sea and through little alleys for a typical atmosphere and great Savon de Marseille buys! The bouillabaisse in itself was worth the trip and it became me trademark recipe back home. Some streets might be a little dirty, some might feel like cuttroated, but I mostly remember the yellow sunshine on the old walls and the fresh salty smell of the sea. |
