"PIOCHE" Pioche by 10eke

Pioche Travel Guide: 3 reviews and 7 photos

Pioche, is not just another mining town, it was considered one of the wildest mining camps of the west in the 1870's. Named using the French word for a miner's pick, it was just as tough as the tool itself. The first cemetery ,"Boot Row" , had seventy-five men buried before anyone died of natural causes! Now, Pioche, is just another sleepy small town under the Nevada sun. By now you know that we have a special bond with former mining towns, since we are from the former coalmining province Limburg in Belgium.
