My husband visited Lisbon for a worktrip in the spring of 2000, he liked it so much that the both of us went back just a few weeks later. It was still spring but the trees now had their leaves. Lisbon is really charming in spring! From the walls of the castle of Sao Jorge, you can enjoy a view of the historic parts of the city. On the side of the hill is Alfama with Baixa below, along the river you can see the harbour of Belem, where the 'discoverers' departed to find the roads to the rest of the world. Lisbon is surrounded by hills, providing a great view (mirador) of the city at every corner.
