Abruzzi National Park is located about 130 miles south of Rome. The terrain is mountainous and rugged. The park is still the home of bears and wolves. We only saw some less dangerous creatures: goats and deer. We only did a quick drive through one area of the park, roads are few but the scenery is plentiful.

Isola Del Liri This is a very interesting town near Frosinone at only 130 Km from Rome. Boncompagni Plaza is the heart of the town. The local 'Blues Festival' generally takes place in August. You have to take some time to admire the wonderful waterfall located right in the center of the town.

Sperlonga is another of these small medieval villages. This one is located on a hilltop overlooking the Mediterranean. It really stands out as it is mostly painted white. The narrow alleys with lots of winding stairs open up view after view of the beaches and the sea. It is said to have been a favorite place for pirates, who brought in cash and trade.
