Steveston, BC - Historic Fishing Village - Steveston

Brittannia Heritage Shipyard

Located about 25 minutes south of central Vancouver, this small village has appeal for someone like me, who seeks to find heritage and history information.

Since the decline of the Newfoundland and Nova Scotian fisheries, this is now Canada's largest commercial fishery. You'll find Canneries and Shipyards here, and a kitschy downtown and waterfront area.

If it weren't for VT, and of course, Robyn (Carmanah), I may have missed visiting this tiny village.

If we hadn't already planned to take the ferry later, we certainly would have tried one of the Whale Watching companies. more travel advice

Frank, I can't believe you were a 2 minute walk away from my house and I had no clue! I worked at that whale watch company all summer! Glad you got to see Steveston! :D
