This revived hotel was once a US Navy flophouse located directly on the waterfront in Fell's Point. I love the name: The Admiral Fell Inn. Until 1985, this place was actually a vinegar factory! Don't worry, the smell is gone.

Even though I live only a few miles away, I've stayed here many times for work. It's a great new hotel (2004) with a very friendly staff.

If you have business at John's Hopkins University or Mercy Hospital, this is the ideal place to stay. The hotel takes up only the first four floors of an urban apartment building. I imagine that the rooms are very limited during conventions and special university events, so book early. You'll be in the Charles Village area, with plenty of university hangouts. It is right next to one of the finer Indian restaurants in town: The Ambassador (see my restaurant tip)

Here's the rowhouse in Federal Hill that my best friend and rented while we were in college.
Unique Qualities: Very very narrow.... I think it was about 10 feet wide. We tossed a coin, and I got the tiny bedroom..... tiny.......

This was one of the first hotels to go up during the early years of Baltimore's rebirth. It's located right downtown, with access to the Inner Harber via pedestrian bridges. I also recomend this hotel to people coming to Baltimore for Conventions, because everything is within walking distance.

I stayed here about 10 years ago when it was the independent Lord Baltimore hotel. It was a grand hotel in a great location. I'm sure that the Radisson corporation has maintained that design.
