I never actually spent the night here, but I visited a few times and had some time to enjoy the pool and resort area......
Unique Qualities: The pyramid shape of the Sheraton hotel was one of the first prominent buildings of the Doha skyline. It is modeled after an ancient Mesopotamian Ziggurat, and is a great local landmark.

Keeping up with the Intercontinental tradition, this hotel does not dissapoint.
Unique Qualities: We spent a day on the resort beach here. The amenities are fabulous, and the beach offers soft sand, and palm shading. The pool is very nice, and has a bar with stools in the water. Also, this is one of your best views of the new construction areas in Doha.

I didn't stay here, but rather attended a VT Meeting with 'RinaNeoh' and 'Jungles' here one evening. I can say that it's a decent location, along the water. They have their own beach, and some delicious food in the restaurants downstairs. I also had some Sushi in the Asian restaurant, it was pretty good! But the Thai food wasn't.

my 2nd day in Doha - definitely similar to abu dhabi. i read about camels that you met off the road, compared that with luxury of hotels and liked the pyramid shaped sheraton. i agree doha is safe for foreigners. my journey continues :-) | uglyscot Mon Nov 27, 2006 19:09 UTC
