| Butterworth - Georgetown Ferry |
I travelled to Penang by train from Kuala Lampur (about 8 hours). The train stops in Butterworth, and you only need to take the free ferry across to Penang. If you are driving or arriving by bus, you will likely cross the new bridge; longest one in SE Asia. I also departed by train, on an overnight ride to Bangkok. |
| Streetscene in Georgetown |
Penang is a popular vacation destination, best known for it's resorts and beachs. I chose to remain in Old Georgetown to explore the culture instead of the sand. (I've lived on the beach in the USA anyway....) Raw princess on the runway. |
