Wind surfing?

I'm not sure if you call it wind surfing with these little sailing crafts... but I can tell you these guys are tough nor-easters. It was some cold and windy when we were there and to be out on those little boards would not be my cup of tea. There were a number of them out at the point enjoying their challenges in their wet suits and we wished them well...
Certainly a great opportunity for sailing of any kind around Westport...lots of winds year round.
The lavender-blues of the water and horizon were amazing.

Gorgeous place to kayak

We were off to Westport to see an exhibit in one of their historic buildings, but were delighted to find this beautiful place where kayaking was the order of the day. It was pretty busy even tho it was a weekday.
This little narrow Westport River is a perfect spot to paddle with beautiful scenery all along the way. A shaded peaceful park overlooks the rental building and gives a perfect view of all the colorful craft coming and going.
One man paddled as if he were in a gondola! We hadn't seen that before. He must have excellent balance.
