Halibut Point is a small pub near the end of Main Street in Gloucester. A friendly atmosphere, a cold beer, and very good fish. Stop in for lunch and a little rest before continuing on to shop or board a boat for a Whale Watch. Gloucester is a salty town. Sea salt, that is. You should watch the movie, "The Perfect Storm" before you go to Gloucester. It will give you a sense of the people there...and their history. And you'll appreciate all the fish that is caught and put on the table in front of you.

Favorite Dish: fish, fish, and more fish.
Their motto is, "JUST FOR THE HALIBUT"
a little play on words there...

MADFISH GRILLE: A Rocky Neck experience
  • Tip Rating:
  • Satisfaction:
  • Restaurant Name: MADFISH GRILLE

The location of this restaurant and bar ,,, is the thing you have to love the most. On a hot night, the multi pane glass windows are tilted up, so that you are looking directly out to the harbor and docks. The night air is wonderful as you enjoy your seafood dinner. The bar is a good place to hang out and maybe have a shrimp cocktail.
It isn't the greatest food in all the world, but it's good...and as I said, you can't beat the location.
I love Rock y Neck. It's a funky old artists' colony...around the corner from the main street of Gloucester. A little peninsula tucked away by itself. Check it out!

What a beautiful painting! Thank you so much for sharing it. I loved your draw bridge. We have one in Sacramento but it doesn't go up; it goes sideways and river traffic passes on either side, the Tower Bridge. Fun!

Super updates.. Love gateway photos! Garden tour would be my style. Hammond Castle, Beauport Mansion, Old Artist Colony, & Our Lady of Good Voyage...all spectacular.
