My latest trip was with my friend from California. I took her to the Kennedy Library and Museum. It's a winner. Everyone enjoys it. I never tire of it. I've added a number of pics from the exhibits. Or.... You can pick up a tour map at many stations selling tours around the city. There are several areas you won't want to miss. The streets are old and very confusing...lots of one way streets. Better to come in by train (called the "T") and then do a lot of walking. Walk the Freedom Trail and see the North Church, Paul Revere's statue, the old State House, etc. Have lunch at Faneuil Hall Marketplace or Ye Olde Oyster House (oldest in Boston..good chowder, baked beans..) Go to Bunker Hill Monument in Charlestown ( lovely neighborhood - good restaurants on the Main Street). Visit Chinatown, the theatre district, Waterfront Park, Beacon Hill...or just lounge around in the Boston Common (big park in the middle of the city). You could cross the Charles River to see Harvard University and wander the streets of Cambridge. There are so many things to see. I'm still seeing new things every time I go. |

| | Find your cultural roots in Boston My daughter and husband took us to a charming little Polish restaurant on Mother's Day. She was excited to have found it, as we don't normally see Polish restaurants serving authentic Polish food in our area. We have lots of other ethnic restaurants, but not Polish. Of course that was a thrill for me...my mother was Polish....and if you've read my tips on all the places I've visited in Poland, you will understand why this restaurant was the perfect gift to me. |
Spring Flower Show The Mass. Horticultural Society presents the Spring Flower Show at the Bayside Expo Center in March each year. There are virtually acres of gorgeous gardens, a garden marketplace as well as lectures and demonstrations. Always a joy to see the blossoms a bit earlier than they actually bloom in our gardens. For information you can check in at www.masshort.org . Another web site to check out...and perhaps visit their facility is http://www.arboretum.harvard.edu/index.html I'll include plenty of pictures from my visit to the show today. | | |
