THE PILGRIMAGE

Thousands of people visit Czestochowa every year...as a religious pilgrimage. Of course they come to see the "Black Madonna". . . a painting which was carried to this place hundreds of years ago ... and seems to have the power of miracles. There is an entire complex built around the original site. Beautiful architecture...very moving religious symbols...

Although I have now been to Poland 6 times I never really made it to Czestochowa. At least I passed through it by train in May this year. Another gorgeous little page of yours.

Another interesting and well presented corner of Poland. Those Black Madonnas are intriguing, I'd heard of others, and they always seem associated with miracles.
