DOWNTOWN: Get your picture taken in...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Get your picture taken in front of 100 rare $10,000 bills - that's a cool million dollars.
Not only is this photo opportunity a good souvenir from Las Vegas, it's FREE. 4PM to midnight.

I've been informed by another VT member that this is no longer on display as of at least 2 years ago due to a change of owners. Please let me know if you find out that it is redisplayed. Thanks.

Fremont Street Experience: Fremont Street Experience
  • Tip Rating:
  • This 90 foot high, gigantic metal mesh of lights was completed in 1995 and has transformed the seedy Downtown area of Vegas. It has attracted tourists, but the area has none of the glamour that you find at the newer hotels on the Strip.
This huge canopy is studded with over 2 million colored lightbulbs, which effectively turn into a giant movie screen. There are several different virtual reality shows, none of which have a plot or content - it's purely just an eye-catching spectacle. The performances are free and begin once it gets dark until midnight. I believe they start every half hour, but it may be every hour. This is run jointly by ten downtown casinos who turn off all their external lights while it's happening. You'll also see the well known neon cowboy and Lady Luck here on Freemont Street.

Sports in Vegas: Wet n' Wild Water Park
  • Tip Rating:
  • Las Vegas is a hot place and this is a fun place to cool off. A bit on the expensive side at $24, under 10 at $18. Open March - Sept., 10AM-8PM. Look for discount coupons in local magazines.

    Stratosphere: Stratosphere
  • Tip Rating:
  • This is the highest building west of the Mississippi at 1149 feet. 75 second ascent to the top (109th floor). Highest roller coaster in the world spins around the top. It's quite slow and is closed on windy days. The Big Shot is a 4 person open air couch which takes you another 160 feet up and then drops you into a freefall. You get a fantastic 360 degree view of Vegas and the surrounding mountains/desert.

    Bellagio Fountains: Bellagio
  • Tip Rating:
  • There is a spectacular fountain performance out front done in sync to classical music. It's very nicely done. The Bellagio is named for an Italian lakeside village and opened in 1998 at a cost of over a billion dollars. The fountain show is a MUST-SEE!

    Weddings: Hey, how about getting...
  • Tip Rating:
  • Hey, how about getting married? Las Vegas is well known for quick weddings. The busiest chapel is the Candlelight Wedding Chapel at 2855 Las Vegas Blvd. Especially on Saturdays, you'll see couples lined up here, waiting to tie the knot. This is a convenient place to watch a Las Vegas wedding ceremony, just walk in and take a seat.

Your tips are informative. You are a great tour guide. As to the pyramid being an atrium, what an interesting thought!!
