Babalu: A little bit of African style in Debrecen

Babalu is an Amazingly decorated little restaurant that has great dishes!!!! If you go you have to try their onion soup!!!! Although the atmosphere is a bit African style, the food is more of a Mexican type with many different dishes to choose from... and lets not start on the drinks... AMAZING, but a bit pricey for Debrecen!

Directions: on Piac utca (the main strip) when you see the "john Bull PUB" restaurant, you have to go down the stairs to somewhat of and underground strip!

This unique restaurant is somewhat underground in what seems to be a wine cellar. The decor is beautiful Hungarian style, the restaurant has plush heavy wooden seats and tables. The menu is typical Hungarian food and drink.

It has a wonderful atmosphere, Italian style.. they have a smoking section in the 'basement' of this intimate little restaurant which resembles a cellar. It is a wonderful place for a romantic dinner!

Favorite Dish: Their specialty steak is a must to try!!!
