Moscow is definitely one of the great cities of the world. Don't have any illusions though, it is still a very large city with over 10 million inhabitants.
The relatively new freedoms in Russia are brought to the fore in Moscow. The city shows how freedom can bring out the absolute best in people and it can bring out the absolute worst in them as well. Millionaires walk the streets with poverty-stricken pensioners.

However, despite the negativity all around, any tourist can still find an amazing amount of richness this city has to offer.
Russian History has always proved a fascination to me. The triumphs, the tragedies, the hardiness of the Russian people. All those images on TV of stony faced Communist Leaders watching those captivating May Day parades through Red Square when I was a child, proved my undoing, so I just had to visit Russia. I can remember how secretive the Soviet empire was, so images were rare, and correct information even rarer. The life of a Russian seemed the complete opposite of my own existance!

I was compelled to come to Russia and to it's home-Moscow.
