If you have a pidgeon phobia well this is a good place to visit if you wish to overcome that fear. In the centre of the square is a large column of Admiral Nelson. It celebrates the famous naval victory at the Battle of Traflagar in 1805. From the top of the column, pidgeons can target unsupecting tourists..beware this is where the PPP lurks, upon high,on the ground....and even stalking you from behind! By the way, this is also a great place to see in the New Year although no drinking allowed!

Westminster Abbey was built from the 1200's to the 1500's. Their is plenty of British history here. Tombs of many Kings and Queens, and many other memorials. Many royal ceremonies occur here. Most notably are coronations. Incredibly every single one since William the Conqueror took over in 1066 has been held here! For a walk through the centuries of English History, this is the best place to start!

This place must be one of the most visited attractions in the world, with just cause. Apart from housing the amazing Crown Jewels, the history here is just fascinating and will keep you enthralled for a long time after your visit. This is a must do!

The Houses of Parliament are an impressive sight on the Thames. The original palace was built here about 1000 years ago! This is the seat of power for the British government. There are tours through the Houses. Another famous sight here is Big Ben. The name Big Ben actually applies to the 13th bell on the hour. The counterweight for the bell is old pennies. Just how old I dont know!

Piccadilly Circus is formed by the junction of five streets and is one of the busiest traffic circles in the world. If you can make it through the crowds of tourists you will see the statue known as Eros, the Greek God of Love (but really meant to be the angel of charity). This must be the most visited spot in London, so keep your belongings close at all times. It is a popular place to meet before heading off into the West End.

So without the crowds, still a couple of tourists managed to get into my photo, and without any sun or warm weather, this is what the statue looks like.

Join the throngs of tourists in Leicester Square. The Square is the centre of the Cinema district and a few Theatres are nearby. There are also plenty of bars, restaurants, cheap stalls selling drinking food. The cinemas are excellent but are very expensive. This picture is amazing, because there was hardly anyone in Leicester Square this day when the Temperature reached a top of -2degrees C.
