La Rochelle is a historic port town located on the Atlantic coast. It was the main Atlantic Port for many centuries. The founders of Montreal left from here.
I was plesantly surprised by the lack of foriegn tourists when I visited although the hoardes of French tourists made up for the. I visited during the annual "Francofollies". It's a celebration of French music and a great fun time to visit the place, although everything does get booked out! |
