Borjomi is most famed for its mineral water. It is meant to have numerous health benefits and therefore the spa town of Borjomi has blossomed. Borjomi is located in a spectacular mountain area. The originating spa was only discovered in the 1830s. It became very popular with the Russian Tsars, and you can see from my picture, the Romanov's decided to build an incredible Palace here in the style of a Tuscan Villa. Overlooking the Palace on the other side of the Mtkavri River, are the spectacular remains of Petres Tsikhe Castle. |
