Petroglyphs Gobustan-Azerbaijan
The petroglyphs of Qobustan (Gobustan) were discoveredby accident inIn the 1930s,. Work was going on there in a stone quarry.
Petroglyphs Gobustan-Azerbaijan
The oldest petroglyphs date to the 12-8th century B.C. Yet, it is assumed that life existed here even earlier than that. Gobustan is believed to be one of the cradles of civilization.
There are also two other interesting sights to see at Gobustan. Roman Graffiti! (see my tip), and the mud volcanoes. Unfortunately, a combination of a taxi driver who couldnt understand us and very late in the afternoon meant we missed this last one.
