    Getting TO/AROUND: From Tbilisi to Yerevan by Train took 17 hours!!! It stopped many, many times. It was very bumpy and very slow. Naturally it was overnight. It cost about 34USD for the two of us in our own sleeping compartment. On the way back to Tbilisi we took a 7 hour Marshrutka trip (see Georgia transportation).

    Getting TO/AROUND: I paid 15 USD for a taxi from Lake Sevan. It took about 2 hours. The road between Yerevan and Sevan is surprisingly good, which makes for a quick and comfortable trip (very unusual for the Caucasus!).

     Yerevan is high on our list of places to go - MrL is particularly keen. Have you read Joan London's "Gilgamesh"? Set in SW Australia and war-time Yerevan - fantastic book with a beautiful sense of place. cheers - leyle    		MalenaN Sun Oct 30, 2005 07:37 UTC
     When I was in Yerevan 2003 I didn't see much of Republic Square as the whole place was under reconstruction. It will be nice to see it next year!
