As many of you may know, I have not been around for awhile. I am taking a break from VT. I am sure that as time goes by you'll look at my name on your friends list and think 'who's that?!' and delete me without a pause ... that's ok - the wheel of time turns for everyone... I'll be back eventually, but I hope that you all continue to enjoy my writing and pictures that I am leaving here... I hope you are all safe and happy, and that your travels are all going wonderfully. Happy Travelling, God Bless, and see you soon... :)
I believe that the best ambassadors for a country are the people that have lived there - so I encourage you to work on a page about your home country, let us 'outsiders' see it from an 'insiders' perspective.
I've tried to do a lot on my home-state of Victoria (which I have put under the general guise of Melbourne), and as time goes by I'll add more and more information, for those of you who are travelling to my little corner of the world.

Below is a poem that I wrote at the start of summer 2000. It is how I feel about the beautiful country that is Australia...
 Freedom...
I'm free... Where the sun is hot on my skin, Brown as summer grass, Red cheeks bright eyes, I glow with the kisses of Australia's sun, I'm free... The sand between my toes, Water lapping at my feet, I see my reflection Is as distorted as Some perceptions of me, But I'm free... Salt on my lips, Wind sweeping my hair around my face, I breathe in the whole world, Nothing matters Where I'm free... I dance across the hot sand, The waves splashing around my feet, White foam and clear water, Shells and the smoothest stones Skim against my ankles Salt on my lips, my hair, my skin, Dolphins dance in the distance, The waves splashing around their silken forms, Sunshine glistening We're so free... My friend the sun Watches over me, Warming my skin Whilst the world slowly turns, Nothing matters here where, My soul is finally free...
