City of sailors that is an excellence place to do nautical activities in the Caribbean Sea, shows in their buildings the French presence. Is located in the south coast and has a singular history that everybody can see in the present "Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de Jagua Fortress" (built 250 years ago!!!). This city was done by French colonists in the year 1819. This French people came from Burdeos and La Luisiana. Their streets are perfectly geometrycally dessign where the visitor can "smell" in their air the Neoclassical atmosphere.
Other things to enjoy are: natural attractions and cuisine.
What to see? Old Armas Square, today José Martí Park (where you can see the only Triomph Arch in all Cuba Island), Nuestra Señora de la Purísima Concepción Cathedral, San Lorenzo School, la Casa del Fundador, Tomás Terry Theatre, De Valle y De Ferrer Palaces...
