La Habana is Cuba's capital with a long water front and Coral Barrier... the cultural place for excelence... Don't forget to visit this wonderful city...
La Havana is considerated an estrategical site for comunications and comerce.
And nowadays the tourist place with more possibilities to reach money with the Tourism Bussiness. Was founded in the year 1519, long time ago, and was called Villa de San Cristóbal de la Habana. The "Habana Vieja" (Old Habana, 143 ha.) was declarated by the UNESCO Humanity Heritage in the year 1982. And Vedado area is the modern city where you'll find most of the hotels, restaurants, shops...
La Havana is the cultural city in Cuba's island. Their litoral with more than 14 km long with a high quality to the east and a green "lung" guarantee the health in the city to their citizens and visitors. One of the most famous cubans writers, Alejo Carpentier, wrote that is the "Column's city" and also spoke about their streets and their "life": perennial show (like La Rambla in Barcelona)
What to see? Capitanes Generales, Castle of the Real Fuerza (the oldest militar work in Cuba) and the Cathedral... Paula's grove (Tres Reyes del Morro Castle & San Carlos de la Cabaña Fortress).
More? Paseo del Prado, Capitolio, Malecón, la Rampa, Plaza de la Revolución, José Martín Memorial, Miramar Quarter, Hemingway Marina...
You'll see... to much to see! :-)
In the picture, one of the streets more crowded and visited with: "La Bodeguita del Medio" famous sign (on your left) in yellow colour. ;-) Perfect place to ask a Mojito! :-P

Hi, Silvia--thanks for the tips. My parents visited Cuba many, many years ago. I wonder what they would think of it now?
