I've lived in Kansas City Missouri since 1981. Most of my adult life has been in Kansas City. Although a fairly large city, the metropolitan area has about 1.2 million people, it is a very quiet, laid back place to live. I live in a suburban neighborhood about a 15 minute drive to work. Many people think Kansas City is in Kansas. Although there is a Kansas City Kansas (in fact that is where I work) the original city is in Missouri. Kansas City was here before Kansas was a state. The climate is relatively mild with some extreme cold in the winter and extreme hot in the summer. The humidity can be a killer!

Kansas City is in the center of the United States. There is a lot of farmland, rivers, and lakes around the city. Downtown Kansas City is on the banks of the Missouri river.

I do not know yet if I will stay here when I retire. There a so many great places in the world. Only time will tell...

I first went to KC in 1998, and was really surprised! I surpassed all my expectations. Neat page and great tips! (Although I'm biased toward TEXAS barbecue! You guys do alright though . . . I guess . . .) LOL

Never been to Kansas City, it looks very interesting. Maybe I wish there were some high rises where I live but with fountains, not too close, etc,.
