Nightlife Spot: U Zlateho tygra
Itıs what I think is a typical Czech beer-pub. Going there was a real experience!!! A person who has lived in Prague a couple of months suggested me to go there. I was with a girl-friend of mine, we entered the place...well...there were almost only men, around 40 years old (or more!!) all drinking beer (what a surprise!). We sat on a bench and we were thinking what to order, when suddenly I saw a hand coming from behind with a big beer glass!!! Ok, the hand belonged to the waiter (very similar to the customers) who looked at me and I said: yes!!! My friend, who doesnıt like beer was a bit shocked!!! And....of course it was NOT a tourist place, we were the only foreigners, and whatıs worst with camera and guide book in our hands!!! I have to say I felt a bit ashamed... But we laughed so much, that it was definitely worth going there!!! Have a taste of real Czech culture!!!

I had this view of Mala Strana everyday I went to work on the no. 5 tram while I lived in Praha. One year was too little. I love this city. Too bad too many tourists are ruining it? C'est la vie... Bill |
