I have been around the world. And, yes, Brisbane wins the "most livable" city award.

Today is the first day of the Brisbane Ekka (9 Aug). It is a week of Agricultural exhibition, where rides and sample bags bring heaps of fun. Next Wed is a public holiday in Brisbane. Ekka Wed occurs every year.

At the start of September, there is the goodwill games. "Paint the town red!" is the slogan. Many athletes are coming to town to compete.

At the start of October, there is CHOGM... It isn't exactly a touristy thing, but it is noteworthy that several Commonwealth head of government are coming to town. Traffic's going to be bad.
