Bathed in history... | Looking down on the Roman Baths |
I had just about 24 hours in Bath, but I could easily have spent five times as long exploring this beautiful city.
I had expected to like Bath, but I found it even more enjoyable than I had anticipated...besides the obvious Roman baths, there is a fantastic costume museum, lovely Georgian architecture, beautiful vistas, fantastic shopping, and about a hundred great places to eat.
And for Jane Austen fans, Bath is a literary mecca...littered with landmarks mentioned in her books (especially Persuasion ), such as the Pump Room, the Assembly Rooms, and even Westgate Buildings. :)
A very livable city...there are few places I've visited about which I can enthusiastically say, "I could live here!" Bath is one of them. ** |

starship Thu Apr 13, 2006 19:03 UTC Nice page! Good tips on your lovely B&B and Tilley's. Have been to Bath twice, only for a few hours each and have never even made it into the Pump Room!! | uglyscot Fri Jun 17, 2005 15:09 UTC Agree with you about Cadbury's...we used to drop in whenever we went shopping. | Ken-out-of-Bath Sun Jan 23, 2005 22:32 UTC Good work Tara! Your Bath page is excellent, Tilley's is also one of my favourites, and I lived in Bath for 14 years! You managed to cram loads into such a short time. | deecat Tue Nov 30, 2004 05:21 UTC Charming Bed & Breakfast. really good tip. Your restaurant tips are delightful and alluring!
