Nightlife Spot: Shakespeare's Globe Theatre
An open-air theatre on the original location of the Globe known to William Shakespeare himself, this is now a very popular venue for Shakespearean productions in London.
I saw Romeo and Juliet here in 2004, and the setting really does bring it to life. Except for a dreadful Juliet who most likely bought her way into the play, the other actors were superb, and live musicians provided accompaniment on period instruments.
Buy the tickets in advance! They're not too expensive compared to most London theatre prices.
