This trip mixed business and pleasure. The business part was indoors. The pleasure part was outdoors and consisted of activities selected from a 'menu' of possibilities. My wife accompanied me and we selected horseback riding, parasailing, and day sailing. Hurricane Michelle (2001) had just passed to the South and disintigrated over the mid-Atlantic Ocean. The weather was slightly cool, but clear. The sunrises were spectacular! We stayed at the Ritz Carlton on the beach - and what a beach - it had been eroded towards the southern end by Michelle, but was long, broad, flat, and firm - Not too many natural locations on this part of the island - mostly built up with hotels, condo's and beach houses. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The Ritz-Carlton is a bit pricey, but the service was fantastic and the staff was the most accommodating I have ever experienced. |
