Helsinki is the city which will charm you. There is lot to see and places to visit and everything is walking range.
You will see the work of famous Finnish architects like Finlandia-talo of Alvar Aalto, Senatore square of Carl Ludwig Engel, Houses of Parliament of J.S. Siren and Lars Sonck and Eliel Saarinen designed Helsinki railway station etc.
If you are at Helsinki during our Midsummer's Day, don't wonder if you won't see anyone there. Finns leave the towns en masse for their summer cottages in the contryside, leaving only a few bewildered tourists behind to wonder where everyone has gone!
