Rick's Nostalgic Mexico 1981 Page.

It was just Magical. I went with my family to central Mexico when I was 11 and it was an experience that made a lasting impression on me, and which still moves me to this day. It was my first trip abroad and we were going to Mexico to visit a friend of my father's who lived outside of the city of Leon. We spent a few days on the beach in Puerta Vallarta then headed inland on a typical old bus for a very long drive to Guadalajara through Leon and finally to the super tiny farm village called Santana. I will never forget how wonderful and generous the people were and will certainly never forget the friends we made in that very short time. Perhaps even harder to forget are the tears that were shed when we finally had to say Goodbye. Those two weeks made up one of the most amazing times of my entire life and was certainly the driving impetus for my desire to travel my whole life, and the eagerness to return to Mexico again and again. These are a few ancient pictures from that wonderful time.
