The LV International Youth Hostel is in the damp, naked ass crack of the city but at least it’s on the Strip. The only redeeming features of its location is that the Liberty Café and Luv- It Custard are right down the street, and oh yeah, you can readily find a cheap piece of action across the street at one of the hourly-rate motels with free XXX movies. That’s my hometown, folks. I think I’m about to cry. private suites are about $35-45 and the dormitory beds get down to almost $13 a night. They also have weekly rates (sorry, no hourly deals).
Unique Qualities: It looks like they have a nice pool, jacuzzi and plan lots of activities and excursions in and outside of town. (i've never stayed there, but give it a try.)

The Tropicana. Although it is fairly old school and some might say downright scummy compared to all the other brandspankingnew mega resorts, I still like the 'Trop'. Heck, it was swank enough in it's day to have a whole street named after it wasn't it?? We rented a room a few years ago to watch the Hacienda implosion and really had a great time. They had fake bamboo trim and a real mirror on the ceiling over the bed. Now if that isn't high class I don't know what is. They also have a swim-up blackjack table, which is pretty decadent and swank Vegas chic. It's also pretty dang cheap comparativly. I don't know the room rates but they're way cheaper than all the other big joints and you're still right in the middle of all the action (baby).
Unique Qualities: It's super close to the more swanky hotels and lots cheaper.

BuckosEleven Thu Jan 15, 2009 18:52 UTC The Gulch is full of saggy bodies BUT at least the girls (most) are friendly and have a laugh and don't fleece you. Sadly it's my favourite 'girly' bar in LV | sdtex1969 Wed Apr 16, 2008 16:25 UTC Read your post re: "gold chain/beev skirt" but you never mention the name of the place.
