I worked in a town next to Madison, NJ for years before I found out why the locals call it the 'Rose City'. Apparently, after the Civil War many farms in the area grew roses for easy shipment by train into New York. Madison is home to Drew University and campuses of Farleigh Dickenson and College of St. Elizabeths are nearby. |
