The ancient site were was built Pompei covers a large area but tourists can only visit some of the most important monuments and ruins; the rest is visited by the students of archeology and people that works in that field. Anyway the area that we, as tourists, can visit is big enought to have an idea of the life at that time. The best way to visit Pompei is to have a guide that can show you and teach you everything about this charming place. If you are a self-made tourist remember to buy a good book, and then follow the crowd!!

A lot of good info, stunning pictures and... I liked Pompei a lot (and Capri, Vesuvio and Amalfi coast). Among ancient ruins only Ephesos in Turkey can compete with Pompei. |
