This city gate is one of the remainders of the fortification. So is the rampart at the Ravelijn "Op den Zoom".

|  | Carnival <font face=verdana color=darkgreen size=3>Carnival is very important for Bergen op Zoom. They start in November already with the first parades and they last until the real carnaval time, 6 weeks before Easter. Then Bergen op Zoom parties for a whole week.

Parks in Bergen op Zoom <font face=verdana color=darkgreen size=3>Bergen op Zoom has a large amount of 'green'. On one side there is the city park ; on the other side the "Ravelijn op den Zoom".
