For the second time, on a beautiful Friday afternoon mid April my husband and I drove to Valkenburg where he would race the tour version of the famous Amstel Gold Race on the next day.
Tom & Gonnie (tompt) were also there with a couple of friends since Tom and his friends were also going to do the bike race.
Gonnie had made arrangements for Friday night dinner and we had - again - a great time!

While the weather had been nice most of Friday, Saturday was grey and rainy. Anyway, all those sportsmen didn't seem to care. 12.000 cyclists were on the road and the atmosphere in the little town was wonderful.
My husband did the 100 km leg in 4 hrs and 8 min. Congrats!

While the weather had been rainy most of Friday, Saturday was only greyish and not too cold. Again some 12.000 cyclists on the road in and around Valkenburg. Crowds all over the place!
My husband did the 150 km leg (lots of up and downhill and much harder than last year's 100 km) in 7 hours and 30 min. Congrats again!
