A very interesting interactive and audiovisual museum in the centre of the small city. The museum tells the history of the city of Ieper and the whole area (Westhoek) during the Great War (WWI). It tells the story of ordinary men and women, citizens and soldiers, young and old, in fact it could have been the story about you and me.
When you enter the museum you will get a small card with a name on it. Throughout the museum you will be able to retrace the life of the person whose name is on your card by introducing the card into three interactive booths.
What I learned from this museum (and from the area in general):
WE MUST NEVER FORGET.
The museum is open every day from April to September from 10 am to 6 pm - from October to March from 10 am to 5 pm, closed on Mondays.
Closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day and the first three weeks after the Christmas Holidays in Belgium.
Ticketsale stops one hour before closing time
