Burano is a small island to fall in love with immediately. It is so full of joy with its colourful houses. In fact it's a cacophony of different colours. And the sunshine makes the colours even more bright. Burano is located in the lagoon north of Venise, excellent to escape from the crowds in Venice and easily reachable by vaporetto (at Fondamenta Nove take vaporetto no. 42). Burano is an artists' island, known for its lace-workers and fishermen. And for its leaning belltower! See picture in my travelogue. |
