Golfe-Juan is where we were based. It's not a very attractive town, but it's a good base to explore the Côte d'Azur and the provençal hilltop towns. And it has some very nice beaches with soft sand. And the view on the Bay of Cannes and the Iles de Lérins is awesome.
Golfe-Juan is where the Emperor Napoleon landed on March 1st in 1815 from the Isle of Elba and where he gave the order to march first towards Cannes and Grasse, then further north, as far as the small village to the north of Grenoble, which is now known as the "Route Napoleon". There is a sign on Golfe-Juan's main street "Here is the starting point of the Route Napoléon". |
| Some beautiful yachts in there! |
