I am a native San Franciscan (one of the few left in the City). Having been born and raised here I know the City intimately. Of course, the tourist places are the things to see but what I think really represents San Francisco are it's neighborhoods. It's a great walking town so the best way to see it is to wander it's streets. Since it is a small city (as world class cities go) it can be covered easily. One neighborhood blends into another without notice. But you will notice differences and realize that you are in the heart of yet another neighborhood.
