I visited New York in the summer of 2003 on a trip with my college. It was for only 4 days, but we certainly got the most out of what little time we had! I only wish I could have spent more time in this amazing city! It didn't take long to realise why this place is so famous! It's one of the world's most incredible cities! |

| | New York Grid One thing that it doesn't take long to notice when you're in New York is its grid-shaped street system. Manhattan is laid out with extremely long, straight roads that you can peer down for miles. The roads cross over with one another, forming a grid of squares, or "blocks." Because of its simplicity, the street names are numbered, hence names like 42nd Street, 34th Street, and so on. |
Everything is BIG! In New York, you'll find that all the buildings are very BIG! You can separate the locals from the tourists simply by looking at who is walking along with their eyes ahead, and who is bumbling along staring high up above them in wonder and amazement! In other words, if you don't want to look like a tourist, don't look up! | | | Your average New York Skyscraper |

Melenudo Thu Aug 23, 2007 18:51 UTC While it's accepted, it's not perfectly acceptable to wear casual jeans and t-shirts to a Broadway play. It's an insult to the other attendees and the performers. You probably woudn't wear such garb to your son or daughter's 3rd grade Holiday Play, right? | madamx Tue Jan 25, 2005 22:29 UTC Thanks for the good New York tips :o) Greetings from Calgary ~ Helen | Jenniflower Sun Jan 23, 2005 12:01 UTC Thx for the gr8 tips, can you tell me more re Trinity church? |
